Tasty and South Indian Special Spicy Curry Leaf Powder karapu Podi Recipe


Ingredients

Andhra special Curry leaf powder recipe/lallyrecipes
2 cups of curry leaf ( washed and dried)

1/2  cup chenna dhal ( kadalai paruppu)

1/2 cup urud dhal

10 nos of red chillies

 Lemon sized  tamarind

1/2 tsp. hing

Salt to taste

4 tsp of oil

Directions

Add  2 tsp of oil to the wok.  Once it is hot,  fry the chenna dhal and urud dhal till they are golden brown.    Set them aside.  You need not add oil again. In the same wok  just dry fry the chillies and then the tamarind, just for 2 minutes.

Again add 2 tsp. of oil to the wok and fry the curry leaf till the colour changes to dark green or till the raw flavour vanishes.

Allow all the ingredients to cool down and grind them  along with salt and hing.  According to your taste you can make it into it  either in to a fine powder  or little bit coarse.

Store it in a clean ,dry  and air tight container.
